Hello parents and citizens of Alexandria. Can you believe we have been in school for 4-1/2 weeks already? That's right! And we have begun many new adventures in this short time. One new adventure includes departmentalizing our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes. This allows students to get a little experience in changing classrooms as they begin to prepare for the move to middle and high school. In addition, it offers students a more focused and challenging educational experience. We anticipate student achievement will soar to new heights! Another new adventure is a school wide read, compliments of our librarian, Mrs. Frommel. We are reading the book Dyamonde Daniel: Make Way for Dyamonde Daniel by Nikki Grimes. Be sure to ask you student what they know about Dyamonde, her friends, and her new school. Another adventure coming soon is breakfast in the classroom. Remember that this program allows all students to eat a free breakfast. Have your student here before 8:15am each morning so they can participate. Last, look for progress reports to come home Friday, September 3. Students - we are always looking for those who 'walk the way of the Wildcat!' Is it in you? We believe....We can....We will....TOGETHER.
